Want to do more than just mow grass and move snow with your X700??  You need a Front End Loader!

With the introduction of the Signature series garden tractors in 2013, John Deere removed the ability to mount the very popular 45 Loader.  Essentially pushing you to the larger/heavier 1025R (or larger) frame tractors.  For a couple years now, L&M Concepts has offered custom mounts to allow you to install a 45 Loader, but John Deere stopped making the 45 Loaders in 2012 and used ones are very hard to find which is driving the cost up.

The John Deere 1 series tractors (1025R, 1023E) have a loader similar in size to the 45 Loader called the 120R that you can still buy new.  L&M Concepts saw this as an opportunity to see if they can be adapted to the X700.  After significant design and testing, we’ve demonstrated that it is possible!

We are excited to offer a 120R mount kit for 2013+ X700s.  There will be two versions available.  One for the two wheel steer tractors and one for the all wheel steer tractors.

If you are like many that don’t need the larger frame tractors, you’ve bought the X700 Series tractors.  With the cost of these machines, you understand the importance of maximizing your machine’s versatility. Our custom fabricated mounts offer a seamless solution, allowing you to easily attach a John Deere 120R Loader to your tractor. Enjoy the convenience of enhanced functionality while maintaining the integrity of your equipment. This unique addition empowers you to tackle a variety of tasks with unparalleled efficiency.

Engineered, Fabricated and Tested in the USA

These 120R Sub-Frame mounts have been designed and fabricated in house to fit your X700 perfectly.  Fully TIG welded and powder Coated Matte Black to match the John Deere frame color.

With these mounts the 120R loader can be installed and removed in just a couple minutes – just like the 1 Series tractors.

The complete kit comes with everything needed to mount a 120R loader.

What 120R loader do you need?

All 120R loader frames are the same.  The difference is in the buckets and the mounts.

  • The 120R can be mounted to the 1 series tractors and some of the 2 series tractors.
    • Our recommendation is that you buy a 120R loader with the 1 series tractor mounts.  Specifically the horizontal mounts and vertical masts with all the hardware.
    • You will only utilize the vertical masts and hardware.  It is cheaper to buy the full mount kit with the loader than just the vertical masts from John Deere.
  • The 120R can be ordered with a 49″ bucket and a 53″ bucket.
    • We recommend the 49″ bucket.  We’ve been doing our testing with the 53″ bucket, but the 49″ would be a better fit (and it is lighter so you can have more lifting capacity)

Requirements and Recommendations

  • It is highly recommended (almost required) that you install the  THRV pressure release valve (BW15044 – 4WD/AWD, BW15043 – 2WD).   It is my understanding that this valve protects the transaxle when utilizing the loader and you hit something while your tires are not able to slip because of the added weight.  These valves came with the 45 loaders when delivered new.  This valve requires you replace your neutral/freewheel lever (M146148) because the valve is taller.
  • It is recommended that you shim your hydraulic pressures to 1225-1250psi
  • It is REQUIRED that you run rear ballast – 250lbs minimum,  300+ recommended.
  • It is recommended that you have a lockout valve installed on the SCV to minimize flow to the rock shaft (deck cylinder) when using the curl function of the loader.  It speeds up the response of the curl.  Many tractors already have this valve installed because of a snow blower or blade (front quick hitch attachments).

I bought a 2ws kit for my x738. I sent an email asking some questions about the mounts and the loader before i purchased the kit. I received an email back that same night with the information that I asked for and was a told that I would be getting a call from Mark personally the next day. I received the phone call the next day and asked more question and ended up ordering the kit once we got off the phone with Mark on Friday. Got an email on Monday that the kit had shipped and ended up receiving it on Wednesday. The kit was packaged very very well and shipping was very fast. I started installation on Saturday morning with the thrv valve and shim kit. I added .7mm of shims to get to around 1300 psi. The instructions for that part were very straight forward and easy to do. I had a few questions for Mark throughout the process and he answered them very quickly and i was able to keep working. This took me about 30-45 mins to complete. I then started to install the loader arms, the directions were very clear as well. Took about 45 mins to install the left side bracket. Started the right side and that took me about 2-2.5 hours because of the scv valve and the bolt behind the muffler. Overall the instructions for the loader kit were on point and great. Happy to have found this kit so i could add a loader to my machine. Loader is ordered but will not have it for about another month. Will update this once I receive the loader and put it to work.

Ordered the 2WS kit for my x758. The craftsmanship on the brackets was great. You can tell the attention to detail to ensure a solid product. Install was easy with the step by step manual. Mark was also available to answer questions live as I was installing the brackets. That was a huge help as I did not have to stop the process for him to get back to me. Still waiting for the loader to arrive, so have not had a chance to fully test it. But so far very happy with the brackets and the customer service.

I got the 2WS kit and installed on my X738. Had 1 question and Mark got back to me within an hour and was able to finish kit install. Fitment of kit is spot on. From the time I placed the the order till I received the kit Mark kept me up to date on time line till I got the kit. I don’t think install instructions could be any better. Picked up the 120r loader and it fit perfect. Mark Thanks for everything

I bought the 2ws version for my x758. All I can say is that the customer service from Start to finish was exceptional. I got updates during the production process and until it shipped out. Installation instructions were very detailed and went smooth. The mounts fit the tractor perfectly as does the loader it looks like it came like that from the factory. The build quality of the mounts are superb and so far I have not seen any issues. I would recommend to get the 49" bucket because it fits the tractor perfectly.

I wanted to share with your customers a tool that accurately finds the center of a clearance hole for transfer drilling. Installation of the mounts requires a few new holes that are not in the frame currently. Once the frame is mounted using existing frame holes, the next step is to drill new 15/32 inch clearance holes for a pass through bolt threaded onto a nut inside the frame. To accurately drill the new holes, you will use the mount’s clearance holes and center punch its center for a two step drilling process. Note: You never want to drill the finished hole (15/32” inch clearance holes this case) as the first hole because the drill will wander off center, even with a center punch mark, resulting in damaging the mount and likely drill the hole off center resulting in an unsatisfactory final hole in your frame! Follow the directions: 1. Scribe the center of the hole using the mount’s clearance holes as a reference. 2. Drill using a 3/16 “ drill. 3. Final drill using 15/32 “ drill. 4. Coat the disturbed surfaces with auto paint to control rusting. I used a simple touch up auto black paint with a built-in brush. Take your time and use a drill stop and lubricant to protect the drills and inners behind the frame. Marking the center in step 1 can be accomplished in many ways. However, if you’re not an experienced machinist, it is easy to be off center. That is why I suggest using a transfer hole punch. One of the best, and easiest, is shown below. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08R7M8Q8P?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share It’s around $15 each. The tip is a spring loaded cone that will auto center itself to the hole. Press down on the device by gripping the sides. The tool will seat itself concentrically and square to the hole. Using a hammer strike the hardened center pin to scribe the frame to the center of the hole. 100% accurate and fool-proof. Saves a few calories (anger, repeating it) by doing it right the first time. Have fun!
